For my design, I wanted a clear and strong color palette to be shown. I stuck with only a few muted earth tone colors with the splash of a muted orange. The night time sky is responsible for allowing the reader to understand that this book will be centered around night time. This dark blue also exudes calmness. I made the illustration of myself orange since it exudes an energetic feeling, which is in contrast with the illustration being of me sleeping. This contrast represents that although there are so many things I want to do, my sleepiness usually takes over. The oranges in the tree represent the daunting tasks that I’m faced with and feel like are falling on top of me. It also, of course, represents being in Syracuse. Lastly, my text color supports the starlight color in the background.
